Step 1 · Pick a recipe

Load a starter recipe from the dropdown. Each recipe can be edited.

Step 2 · Check lye settings

30% lye concentration is a beginner-friendly default: enough water to move slowly, not so much that the bar stays soft forever.

Step 3 · Edit prices

Panama starter prices are seeded from Riba Smith where possible. They are editable and should be checked before costing real production.

2. Batch settings

Most solid bar soap uses NaOH.

5% is a common body soap starting point.

Formula: lye ÷ (lye + water). 30% means about 2.33 parts water per 1 part lye.

Calculated from total oil weight. Always check supplier/IFRA limits.

Used for cost per bar.

Optional retail estimate.

Editable. Not sourced from Riba Smith.

Editable placeholder.

Advanced costing

Leave at 100 unless your product label says otherwise.

3. Oils

Choose a recipe above, then edit grams, prices, or oils. Percentages and the calculated batch update automatically.
